My Shower Estimate is operated by Michael, an individual sole trader based in Athens, Greece. You can contact us at info@myshowerestimate.com. We are an independent referral service and are not an installer. We do not perform installations, repairs, or any home improvement work ourselves.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide directly. When you use our estimator tool or contact us, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, postcode, project details (current bathroom setup, preferences, budget range, timeline), and any photos you choose to upload of your bathroom.

Information collected automatically. When you use our Service, we automatically collect your IP address, browser type and version, device information, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and similar usage data through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from advertising partners. If you arrived at our Service via an advertisement, we may receive information about which campaign, keyword, or ad creative led you to us.

3. Lawful basis for processing (UK GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018:

· Consent: When you submit a quote request, you consent to us processing your data and sharing it with matched installers.
· Legitimate interests: For analytics, fraud prevention, and improving our Service.

· Match you with vetted home improvement installers and lead referral networks in your area

· Display and measure the effectiveness of advertisements
· Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

5. How we share your information

With installers and lead networks. The core function of our Service is to connect you with home improvement professionals. When you submit an estimate request, we share your contact information and project details with up to three (3) installers or lead referral networks (such as Bark.com, MyBuilder, Rated People, Checkatrade) in your area. These third parties are independent businesses and have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

With service providers. We use third-party service providers to host our Service (Amazon Web Services), generate AI estimates (OpenAI), send emails (Amazon SES), track ad performance (Google Ads, Google Analytics), and route phone calls. These providers process your information only as necessary to perform their services for us. Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EEA — see Section 11 for international transfer safeguards.

For legal reasons. We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business transfers. If we sell or transfer the business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our Service, remember your preferences, analyse traffic, and measure the effectiveness of advertising. We use Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, and similar tools. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impair your experience using the Service.

We retain your contact information and project details for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for a reasonable period after to fulfil our legal, business, and contractual obligations. Bathroom photos you upload are automatically deleted from our servers ninety (90) days after upload.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cloud storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may opt out of these communications at any time by replying STOP to a text message, clicking unsubscribe in an email, or contacting us at info@myshowerestimate.com.

11. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (Amazon Web Services, OpenAI) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions, in compliance with UK GDPR.

12. Children's privacy

Our Service is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
